Only 100 Sinn 356 Euro Flieger III watches were made, all for the Japanese market. It was a left-handed pilot chronograph: black dial, bright yellow sub-dial, crown on the left. It sold out, and today it only turns up on the Japanese secondary market.
The QM39M135 is our homage to that watch. It keeps the left-hand crown and the three-register dial, then makes its own calls on color, movement, and case.

The Watch Behind It: Sinn 356 Euro Flieger III
The Euro Flieger III was introduced in late 2022 as the third model in a series that began with the 356 Euro Flieger in 2000. The series draws on the onboard clocks Sinn made for Eurocopter helicopters flown by NATO forces.
Its signature was the small-seconds sub-dial, painted in a yellow fluorescent finish that glows under the black light of a helicopter cockpit. The hands and markers carried yellow lume to match.
It was a compact automatic chronograph with a reinforced acrylic crystal, built around Sinn's focus on legibility by day and by night.
Why the Crown Is on the Left
A destro watch (Italian for "right") moves the crown and pushers from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock. That helps two kinds of wearers:
- Left-handed wearers. On the right wrist, the crown faces your hand, so your left hand sets the time and runs the chronograph naturally.
- Anyone wearing it on the left wrist. The crown and pushers point toward your elbow, so nothing digs into the back of your hand when you bend your wrist.
On a chronograph, that's three pieces of hardware instead of one, so you feel the difference every day.

What We Kept, and What We Changed
We kept what makes the original recognizable: a black three-register dial, one contrasting sub-dial, and the crown on the left. Here is where the two part ways.
| Sinn 356 Euro Flieger III | Milifortic M135 | |
|---|---|---|
| Contrast sub-dial | Bright yellow, fluorescent | Warm yellow, lumed |
| Hand and marker lume | Yellow | Pale green |
| Movement | SW500 automatic | Miyota 6S10 quartz |
| Chronograph | 30-minute and 12-hour counters | 1/20 second, up to 60 minutes |
| Case | 38.5 mm, 15.5 mm thick | 39 mm, 11.7 mm thick |
| Crystal | Reinforced acrylic | Domed sapphire, AR-coated |
| Water resistance | 100 m | 50 m |
| Price | ¥440,000 at launch (roughly $3,000), 100 pieces | $158 |
The yellow. We sampled both shades. On our dial, the warmer yellow suits the overall look and doesn't jump off the black the way bright yellow does.
The movement. Quartz makes this a different watch, and we'd rather say so up front. The Miyota 6S10 times to 1/20 of a second, shown on the register at 6 o'clock, and never needs winding. It's also why the case is nearly 4 mm thinner than the original.
The crystal. We chose domed sapphire over acrylic for scratch resistance, and kept the dome for its vintage edge distortion.
The trade-off. Water resistance is 50 m against the original's 100 m, so treat it as a daily watch, not a swimming one.
Design Details
The matte black tri-compax dial has lumed baton markers at the hours and a fine minute track around the edge. Flat, lacquered hour and minute hands are filled with pale green lume, and a slim white central hand counts the chronograph seconds.
The warm yellow sub-dial at 3 o'clock is lumed as well, so it glows with the hands and markers after dark. Over it all, the domed sapphire crystal carries an anti-reflective coating to keep glare down.

The 39 mm case is 316L stainless steel, brushed throughout, with lugs that slope down toward the wrist. At 45.7 mm lug to lug and 11.7 mm tall, it suits smaller wrists and slides under a shirt cuff. Both the crown and the circular-brushed caseback screw down.
Leather Strap or Steel Bracelet
- M135A: black genuine leather strap with off-white contrast stitching and a steel pin buckle. About 65 g in total, so you barely notice it.
- M135B: stainless steel bracelet with a double push-button folding clasp and etched logo. About 148 g, with the reassuring weight of a tool watch.
Both have 20 mm lugs, so switching to a NATO or rally strap later is easy.

FAQ
Is the QM39M135 a Sinn 356 homage?
It's our homage to one specific 356 that Sinn no longer makes: the 100-piece, Japan-only Euro Flieger III. We kept its left-handed, three-register look. The movement, chronograph functions, colors, and crystal are different.
Is it mechanical or quartz?
Quartz. It runs on the Japanese Miyota 6S10 chronograph movement, rated at ±20 seconds a month with a battery life of about four years.
Can I wear a left-handed watch on my left wrist?
Yes, and plenty of right-handed people do. The crown and pushers face your elbow, so they never press into the back of your hand.
How water resistant is it?
50 m (5 ATM), with a screw-down crown and caseback. Rain, hand-washing, and splashes are fine. Keep the crown fully screwed down, and never press the pushers underwater.
