I'm overall *reasonably* impressed for the price, however, the day/date quickset function on my example seems to only work when it feels like it, about one time in three or four, much messing about pulling & pushing the crown multiple times to get it to deign to function when initially setting time & date, that's down to the movement manufacture though.
Was it actually checked by MiliFortic?
Such functions are best checked twice, it literally only takes seconds extra. QC may have just lucked out to one of the times it decided to work.
My other criticism is that the NATO style strap could really do with being about an inch longer, being about that shorter than actual NATO spec & consequently it's impossible to tuck the flapping end in the approved manner, a shame given the extra penny or less an extra inch of nylon webbing would cost.
My advice: Get the leather strap and/or or budget to replace the NATO strap with a proper length one if you have even an average size wrist (my wrist being a pretty average 7 ¼"), you'll probably be Ok on the day/date setting even if I'm the unlucky one... I've not seen any reports of iffy quickset date on the Seiko movement, I figure that's just my typical luck.
Lost a star each for these issues. I'd have loved to have given 5.
For all that I love the watch & case in particular, especially the choice to have day as well as date complications, and I am tempted to purchase another & swap the dial & day/date wheels for blue ones from AliExpress, I think it's a shame shame the dial wasn't paired with a matching colour day & date wheel, since they are available, though I can't criticise that given I saw and accepted that before ordering & that's just a personal preference.
