These timepieces were built with absolute clarity in mind: large outer minute markers, smaller inner hour markers, and bold Arabic numerals that could be read at a glance in the cockpit. Over time, the B-Uhr became one of the most iconic pilot’s watch designs in history.
Sinn reinterpreted this heritage with the Sinn 856 B-Uhr—a modern, tool-focused watch inspired by that wartime classic. While it carried forward the utilitarian spirit, Sinn added its own contemporary design language, making the 856 a cult favorite among enthusiasts.
Now, with the Milifortic M111, we pay tribute to the Sinn 856 B-Uhr. Retaining the essence of the original while refining key details, the M111 is our take on this timeless design—stripped of distractions, built for readability, and ready for everyday wear.
Design Details
The dial of the M111 stays true to the B-Uhr layout: large outer minute markers paired with smaller inner hour numerals. To further enhance clarity, the 15, 30, and 45 positions are printed in bright white, standing out against the matte black background. The stark contrast between the black dial and white markings makes reading the time quick and effortless. In addition, we made a deliberate choice to remove the date window—our goal was to achieve perfect symmetry on the dial and preserve its clean, balanced look.
For nighttime readability, the M111 is equipped with full Japanese luminous paint. Every critical element is coated: minute markers, hour numerals, the triangle at 12 o’clock, the highlighted 15/30/45 numerals, as well as the hour, minute, and second hands. The result is an evenly glowing dial that remains highly legible even in complete darkness.
The case is crafted from stainless steel and fully brushed, including the crown. This not only creates a uniform, tool-like appearance but also helps hide scratches from daily use, keeping the watch looking fresh and rugged.
Completing the design is a genuine leather strap that balances comfort with vintage appeal. Soft on the wrist yet durable, it adds a touch of casual refinement to the military-inspired aesthetic.
