Pointer date, 24-hour subdial, sapphire crystal and 100m water resistance, in a case just 8.5mm thin.

Old aviator and military watches have a look enthusiasts keep coming back to: big numerals aged to a warm cream, an oversized crown, a black dial you can read at a glance. Owning the real thing usually means collector prices, a fragile crystal and a watch you'd rather keep out of the rain.
The QM38P137 gives you that look at a sensible price, in a watch made for everyday wear. It's sized like a vintage dress watch, 38mm across and about 8.5mm thick, so it works with a jacket and tie as well as with jeans.
A dial built around big numerals

The dial is where the vintage character lives. Large Arabic numerals in a bold, vintage-style typeface are printed in warm, aged-tone lume, the shade old luminous paint turns after decades. An outer track marks every minute, with white numerals every five minutes for precise reading.
The two subdials partly cover the 12 and the 6, giving the dial a layered, old-school look. The rest stays clean: the Milifortic name on one side, "330ft=100m" on the other.
The hands are matte black, so they blend into the dial and let their aged-tone lume stand out. That lume isn't just for show: after some time in bright light, the numerals and hands glow clearly in the dark.
Pointer date and a 24-hour subdial

The upper subdial is a pointer date. Instead of a date window, a slim hand points to the day of the month, so no window cuts into the dial.
The lower subdial shows the hour on a 24-hour scale, the way time is kept in aviation and the military. It follows the main hour hand, so it tells you AM from PM at a glance. That also makes setting the watch easier: get the 24-hour hand right, and the date changes at midnight instead of noon.
Pilot looks, dress watch proportions
Pilot watches tend to run large. This one doesn't: the polished 316L stainless steel case is 38mm across, 46mm lug to lug and about 8.5mm thick, crystal included. At roughly 54g, it sits light on the wrist and slips easily under a shirt cuff.
Long, downturned lugs help it hug the wrist. At 3 o'clock is an onion crown, a pilot-watch classic from the days when crowns had to be big enough to grip with gloves on. Ours screws down to keep water out.
Vintage looks, modern build
This is where the P137 parts ways with the old watches it takes after:
- Sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating: far more scratch-resistant than mineral glass or acrylic, with less glare.
- Screw-down crown and caseback, rated to 100m (10 ATM). Rain and hand-washing are no problem; for swimming, swap the leather for a NATO or rubber strap.
- Seiko VH61 quartz movement, accurate to within ±15 seconds a month at normal temperatures, with a battery that lasts about two years.
The VH61 also does something most quartz watches don't. Its seconds hand moves four times a second, so it sweeps around the dial in small steps instead of ticking once a second, much closer to the motion of a mechanical watch. At just 3.45mm tall, it's also a big reason the case stays so slim.
Leather strap, easy to swap
The P137 comes on a black genuine leather strap with cream contrast stitching that echoes the lume. It fastens with a 316L stainless steel pin buckle with an etched logo.
With 20mm lugs, strap changes are easy. As some of our photos show, a black NATO gives it a more military look.

FAQ
Does the seconds hand tick or sweep?
It sweeps. The Seiko VH61 moves the seconds hand four times a second, so it travels around the dial in small steps rather than ticking once a second.
Is the 24-hour subdial a GMT?
No. It follows the main hour hand on a 24-hour scale, so it shows AM or PM rather than a second time zone.
How thin is the QM38P137?
About 8.5mm including the sapphire crystal, slim enough to fit under most shirt cuffs.
Can I swim with it?
Yes. The case is rated to 100m with a screw-down crown and caseback; just make sure the crown is screwed down, and swap the leather strap for a NATO or rubber strap first.
What size strap does it take?
20mm.
